Legacy Machine Retrofit & Brownfield Data Capture

Adding measurement records to legacy machines without a communication interface via external sensors and edge.

Context

A retrofit measurement point is installed to gain measurement and records from existing machines and lines where communication ports are limited. It is used on automotive brownfield lines and likewise in metal or plastics machining.

Our approach
What we do
02
Narrative · 02

What we do

We install suitable sensors and an edge unit on the legacy machine; signal conditioning, sampling and record format are written in the project definition; data flows to operations dashboards.

Deliverables
What you get
03
Narrative · 03

What you get

Retrofit measurement point, record format and site acceptance record.

04

How we verify

Acceptance of the retrofit measurement point compares external sensor output against a reference measurement or manual count, recording accuracy and repeatability. The signal is approved once it is shown to match the machine's actual running state.

05

What is required

Requires physical access to mount sensors on the legacy machine with a short downtime window, a suitable electrical or mechanical connection point, and a reference measurement method for verification.

Record chain

Record context

From obligation to measured record to produced output.

01
Obligation / requirement

Production, traceability or quality record obligation

02
Required record

Shop-floor production and process records

03
What AEON produces

Timestamped operational records from measurement

What's included

  • Cycle and downtime records per legacy machine
  • Retrofit acceptance protocol
  • Measurable fleet without new machine investment
