Application-specific field devices
Need-specific devices and interfaces — from field to office.
What is an application-specific device?
An application-specific device is hardware designed when a standard product cannot meet a measurement, test, diagnostic, kiosk or operator-interaction need. Electronics, mechanics, embedded software and the link to upper systems are considered together.
The process covers requirements and acceptance criteria, design, prototype, verification and productisation when needed. Both one-off project devices and repeating product lines with partners are possible.
The device is defined in the same package as the interface, recording software, mounting and acceptance protocol. How the operator or service team will use it is part of the design.
Our general device & interface services
AEON also designs custom devices and interfaces beyond industrial test cells. Information kiosks, operator panels, portable and end-of-line diagnostic units, field / edge gateways, bespoke sensor rigs and embedded control boards are in scope.
The same engineering process applies for retail, services, laboratories, training or field-service teams: discovery, design, prototype, compliance-documentation support and software integration. Device design sits with AEON; manufacturing is run with partners.
Delivery includes requirements and acceptance documents, mechanical / electronics design outputs, a prototype, embedded and upper software, installation / user guides and acceptance-test records. When the need repeats, a productisation and supply plan opens with partners.
We can adapt an existing product or design from scratch. The priority is that the use scenario, environment conditions and upper-system link are written in the same definition.
How AEON applies it
At AEON, device work is the physical delivery of test and measurement solutions. 6DOF/platform cells, DAQ chains and telemetry recording (TS family) are installed to the channel plan and acceptance criteria in the project definition.
The device ships in one package with software and commissioning: motion/measurement hardware, recording software and the acceptance protocol close together. When the need repeats, a productisation path opens with partners.

Solutions
Solutions linked to this area
The catalog items below use this systems capability on site. Explore scope, delivery and acceptance language in detail.

6DOF Motion Platform Test Cell
Stabilization error report, motion profile verification, repeatable test protocol.

Stabilization and Remotely Commanded System Test Cell
Stabilization score, target tracking error chart, pass/fail criteria report.

Data Acquisition (DAQ) and Measurement Chain Setup
We install the DAQ measurement chain, condition logging, report format and operator acceptance for product and process characterization — your team runs the measurements.

Telemetry Recording and Replay
Deterministic recording of test and mission telemetry on a common time axis, synchronised replay and event-segment analysis.

Positioning System Verification & Acceptance
A test and acceptance pack that verifies accuracy, response time and acceptance criteria of an indoor positioning infrastructure—installed or to be installed—with measured records.

End-of-Line Diagnostics & Test Integration
A software and device pack that integrates end-of-line diagnostic protocols (UDS, DoIP, CAN FD), automates tests and produces vehicle/part-level test records.
